Grow your own blueberries

You can grow your own blueberries by purchasing pesticide free plants from a reputable source. A very good plant that produces true wild blueberries that are well suited for use in baking and with high antioxidant levels is Rubel. You can use these blueberries fresh and freeze any that are left over for use later in the year. This will provide you with a ready source of very economical blueberries. With the price of food on the increase for the foreseeable future this will make a good investment. It is a good idea to have at least two plants.

Blueberries are one of the best cultivated fruits for the home garden. The plants are beautiful and blend well into the landscape. The white flowers in spring are followed by big crops of delicious blueberries and in the autumn there is lovely foliage. From a nutritional stand point blueberries offer more antioxidants to support good health than any other fruit.
